Training and Assessment Information

This course is delivered through a combination of face-to-face sessions in a classroom-based setting and supervised online class.

The course timetable will be communicated to you in your Offer Letter and Student Agreement. Attendance is mandatory for 15 hours of classes per week, accompanied by an additional 5 hours of supervised online class per week, spanning 52 study weeks (4 terms of 10 weeks each), with a three-week holiday break per term.

Class sessions incorporate a blend of theoretical and practical activities, emphasizing the application of skills in real-life workplace scenarios. A self-study guide, featuring weekly activities, will be provided for your independent study, with completed tasks submitted to your trainer and assessor.

Apart from the designated class and supervised online class hours, approximately 5 hours of unsupervised study per week are expected, involving general reading and research to support assessments. Assessment methods may encompass:

  • written questions,
  • projects,
  • presentations,
  • reports, and
  • role plays/observations.

Your trainer and assessor will outline specific assessment tasks at the commencement of each unit.

Your classes will be conducted in modern classrooms, and you will be able to access Wi-Fi. There are also areas for you to relax, as well as conduct additional study.

You will be provided with a Student Guide relevant to each unit in your course.

What are the entry requirements?

BSB Training Package specifies the below entry requirement for the BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business qualification:

  • Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions).


  • Have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.

In addition to the above, Velocity Education and Training has the following entry requirements:

International students must:

  • be at least 18 years of age and have completed year 12 or equivalent.
  • have an IELTS* score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
    • educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country; or
    • successful completion of an English Placement Test; or
    • successful completion of AQF level Certificate IV and or above; or
    • successful completion of ELICOS studies upper intermediate level or above
    • Applicants without the documented evidence to demonstrate the required English language competence may undertake the Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test online to achieve a result of ACSF level 4 to meet Velocity Education and Training’s English Language entry requirement.

*Note that other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted. Students are required to provide their results so that it can be confirmed they are equivalent to IELTS 6.0.

Qualification Issued

Students obtaining a ‘competent’ result for all listed competencies will be issued, by Velocity Education and Training, a nationally recognised award for the BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business. Velocity Education and Training will issue the Certification within 30 days of the student being deemed competent in all units they are enrolled in.

Students, who do not complete the required 10 units of competency to achieve the BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business qualification, will receive a Statement of Attainment for those units that they have successfully completed.
